Emily Kimber is a textile designer and contemporary applied artist currently based in South Wales.
Emily spent her childhood watching her mother create things from wool and fabric. In her younger years she attempted to create wonderful things too but lack of experience left her in tangles of wool and scraps. However, her passion for textiles has never left her, and (with much more experience) Emily now spends her time drawing, sewing and crafting in the home she shares with her cat.
She has studied textiles throughout college and university, furthering her passion for experimentation with fabric, and developing her unique style through pushing collage elements into her work and challenging the boundaries of textile design. Emily loves to work in print and stitch to create fibre art and takes on a variety of projects, from surface pattern design for interiors to commissions and crafts.
Emily has sold work internationally, and exhibited in various galleries and shows including Paris. This website is a hub for her creative projects. You can view the portfolio to see previous work, and keep up to date on upcoming projects and exhibitions on her blog. A small selection of Emily's work can be purchased at her online shop.
